Fake certificates detected

 SHILLONG: Army authorities have detected a total number of 49 cases of candidates producing fake domicile certificates during the ongoing Army Recruitment Rally at JN Stadium, Polo on Wednesday.

Superintendent of Police (City) Vivek Syiem informed that the Army authorities detected the face certificates while screening the documents of the candidates.

The Army later handed over these candidates to the police.

The police official also informed that there were another 40 candidates who had also submitted fake domicile certificates, but they did not turn up for the running test after learning that some of the candidates had been caught by the Army authorities.

He said that majority of the fake domicile certificates were issued from Dimapur in Nagaland while most of the candidates possessing fake domicile certificates hailed from Uttar Pradesh.
