Fraud
Buddha Chandra Sona lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that one Raju Das (50) provided him and four others with appointment letters for jobs in the Office of Eastern Air Command, Upper Shillong and took three lakh Sixteen thousand rupees from them. However, the appointment letters were found to be fake.
Arrest
On July 25, Police arrested one Bhalang Syngkon alias Jitu (31) in connection with a Jowai PS Murder Case.
Rape
On July 24 around 4 pm, one Pilat Sangma attempted to rape one minor girl aged (15) near Simsang River (EGH).
Fake documents
Col. Mannie Chopra, DIG, RTG, HQ, Recruiting Office, Shillong lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on July 24, during an Army recruitment rally at JN Stadium, Shillong, about 60-70 candidates had produced fake documents.
