One killed by speeding vehicle

 Guwahati: One person was killed on the spot after he was hit by a public bus (AS 15 C 3359) coming from Bajali to Guwahati. The speeding vehicle dragged the deceased for more than 300 metres after hitting him at speed at around 11.30 am on Sunday.

The accident occurred near Beharbari Chariali along the highway stretch. Police nabbed the driver of the bus, Prafulla Boro, and seized the vehicle.

The four-lane national highway stretch between Jalukbari and Kahanapara in Guwahati often witnesses fatal accidents because of reckless driving of vehicles while there is hardly any police patrolling to check the speeding vehicles.
