ACCIDENTS ACROSS STATE

lThe driver of a Maruti 800 local taxi (MLO5F – 0612) sustained injuries when the vehicle crashed into a wall on the side of the road on a turning near the Assembly premises at Rilbong on Monday at 5:33am. The injured person has been identified as Nandil Rai (30/M). He was first shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital and then to Bethany Hospital.

lTwo occupants of a truck heading towards Lad Rymbai sustained injuries after the vehicle overturned on a turning at Tuber Kmai Shnong under Khliehrait Block, East Jaintia Hills on July 28 at 3:10pm. The injured persons have been identified as Netu Singh (29/M) and Ioo Lyngdoh (42/M).

lUnable to see due to the heavy rainfall, two people sitting on top of a Mahindra proceeding towards Songsak, sustained injuries after they were hit by a closed gate at Samanda Forest Gate check point under Samanda Block, East Garo Hills on July 27 at 10.18pm. The injured persons have been identified as Silseng N Sangma (29/M) and Soldin Shira (30/M).

lThree people, all occupants of a Maruti 800 sustained injuries when the vehicle crashed in to a railing on the side of the road along the Shillong by-pass at Mawkhanu on July 27 at 3:05pm. The injured persons have been identified as Alan Wankhar (26/M), Lester Kharkongor (28/M) and George Rymbai (36/M).

In all the above cases, the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at the respective locations helped in shifting the injured to various hospitals.
