Appeal to President

 SHILLONG: Malabika Bisharad, a resident of Shillong, has approached President Pranab Mukherjee seeking his intervention to preserve the heritage Brookside Mansion in the city where the great poet Rabindranath Tagore had stayed during his visit to Shillong in 1919.

Acting on the petition, the Presidential Secretariat has issued an order asking the State Government to communicate the action taken on the petition to the petitioner with intimation to the Presidential Secretariat.
