Govt effects major bureaucratic reshuffle in State

 Shillong: The State Government has effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle including transfer of two Deputy Commissioners — Akashdeep (Ri Bhoi) and Abhishhek Bhagotia (East Jaintia Hills).

As per an official notification issued on Tuesday, Pooja Pandey, Deputy Secretary to the Health and Family Welfare department will take over as the new Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi district in place of Akashdeep. WR Lyngdoh, Joint Secretary to the Finance Department, will replace Abhishek Bhagotia as the new Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills.

While Akashdeep will function as the Secretary to the Education Department, Abhishek Bhagotio will assume charge as the Commissioner of Taxes and Director, Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI).

Principal Secretary of Food and Civil Supply Department PW Ingty would hold additional charge of Principal Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department.

P Kharkongor, who was earlier looking after the agriculture, sericulture and weaving department as Principal Secretary, will now also function as Principal Secretary of the Sport and Youth Affairs department.

Commissioner and Secretary of Health and Family Welfare department, Information Technology DP Wahlang has been assigned as the Commissioner and Secretary of Urban Affairs department. However, he is relieved of his responsibilities as Commissioner and Secretary of Health and Family Welfare department and Sports and Youth Affairs and mission director of NRHM.
Commissioner and Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management, L Kharkongor is relieved from the department of Industries and Commissioner of Taxes.
On the other hand, Commissioner and Secretary, LR Sangma is also relieved as Director of Higher and Technical Education.
RD Marak, Commissioner and Secretary, has been relieved from the post of Commissioner of Excise, while FR Kharkongor will now function as Secretary to the Sports and Youth Affairs department.
Joint Secretary M Kharmujai will now also function as commissioner of Excise while Secretary MR Synrem will be the new Mission Director of National Rural Health Mission ( NRHM).
Vijay Kumar has been relieved as the Director of Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI) while Joint Secretary Ripnar Lyngdoh is relieved as the Director of Employment and Craftsmen Training.
Similarly, Commissioner of Transport SN Marak has been transferred as the Joint Secretary of Soil and Water Conservation Department, while Director of School and Education Literacy JD Sangma has been transferred to the post of Director of Higher and Technical Education.
Jessic Pakyntein, MD of the Meghalaya Mineral Development Corporation, has been replaced by Raksin P Marak. Pakyntein will now function as Commissioner of Transport.
Meanwhile, Ambrose Ch Marak, Additional Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills  got promotion and is posted as the Director of School Education and Literacy .
Mirthnarch, Marak, Additional Deputy Commissioner, East Garo Hills, also got promotion and is now transferred as the Joint Secretary, Labour deparment.
Bhupesh Hajong, Additional Deputy Commissioner, East Garo Hills has been transferred as Director, Employment and Craftsmen Training.
