 SHILLONG: The BSF deployed in South West Khasi Hills seized 45 boats worth Rs 13 lakh during a special operation launched following inputs regarding smuggling of boats.

The Bangladeshi people, in boats come inside the Indian Territory in the Indian River Jadukatta and indulge in illegal activities like picking up the stones from the river and selling them.

In the last three months, BSF has seized 159 boats. The BSF mentioned that they have been maintaining zero firing on the border even in such circumstances, whereas the Bangladeshi people attack and injured the BSF personnel. Seized items have been handed over to the concerned department for further disposal.
