SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Postal Division in association with Shillong General Post Office organized a first of its kind letter writing competition titled “MEGHDOOT-2013.” Interestingly, an actual inland letter was brought into play in the competition.

The creative exercise was intended to tap the artistic genius in the nascent minds of children. The endeavour of the contest is seen to be pertinent in an age where technology is at the foreground in all aspects of the growth of young minds in the present age.

Students from 17 different schools participated in the competition which was held at the Anoop Chand Hindi Secondary School premises.

The competition was organized in three categories of primary level, middle level and high school segments with separate contemporary social themes for each category.
