SHILLONG: The Joint Action Committee of All Teachers’ Association of Meghalaya (JACATAM) has opposed the proposal of the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) to take over the task of preparing question papers for the Class IX internal examinations.

“This proposal that the board would prepare the question papers is not acceptable. MBoSE is trying to re-introduce a failed policy which it has tried five years ago,” JACATAM chairman ED Nongsiang said recently.

According to him, the Class IX students have been asked to pay an amount of Rs 1600 for the question papers to be prepared by the board.

“We would want the existing system to continue where the schools would prepare the questions,” the JACATAM chairman said.
