Independence Day celebrations
As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the West Garo Hills District Administration will organize an Independence Day Run and an exhibition football match in Tura on August 14th and 15th respectively.West Garo Hills District Sports Officer, J P Marak informed that the marathon race, which is open for participants above 16 years of age would be held on August 14th while the football match will be held at the Tura MP Stadium on August 15th.
lMother’s School at Aurobindo Institute for Indian Culture will organise a pre Independence Day celebration at 5 pm on August 10 at the institute’s auditorium in Shillong. A cultural programme will also be organised on the occasion.
Prayer meet
A special Prayer Day was organized recently by the United Christian Peace Forum (UCPF), Resubelpara zone in all of its seven units at Kharkutta, Adokgre, Damas, Dainadubi, Bajengdoba, Bolsong and Raja Apal in North Garo Hills. A large number of people gathered for the prayer meet.
