Detonators seized

 SHILLONG: The BSF troops of Khaliangin West Jaintia Hills on Thursday arrested one Bangladeshi national identified as Md Ali along with three electric detonators and gelatine (neogel) while he was exfiltrating from India to Bangladesh on August 9.

During preliminary interrogation, the arrested person confessed that he was a labourer at the stone quarries of Khliehriat, and was returning home on the eve of Eid.

As per the BSF, it was revealed that one labourer in-charge Juned of Ladrymbai handed him the explosives which was to be ferried across to one Adul Khadir of Bangladesh.

After the leads, the BSF and state police launched joint operations in a coal mine area of Umsung and arrested five people including three Bangladeshi nationals.

During the operation, BSF and State police arrested Md Samsoddin, Md Abdul Jonaed, Md Alinoor, Md Abdin, and Md Eqramul, and recovered twenty five detonators and seventeen other explosives.
