JOWAI: West Jaintia Hills Police arrested one Prodip Lywait on Tuesday night for allegedly strangulating his 10-month-old daughter to death at his residence at Mynthong, Jowai on August 7. The child’s mother, Puja Gogoi, a daily wage earner, was out for work when the incident occurred. Finding that her daughter has been strangulated to death, she immediately called for police and lodged a complaint against the father who was missing from home when she returned. Police managed to nab the accused after 13 days of manhunt.
