Hek visits CHC, IPR office at Mawkyrwat

 NONGSTOIN: Health and Family Welfare Minister, AL Hek, visited the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Mawkyrwat under South West Khasi Hills District on Tuesday and discussed various problems pertaining to the needs of the CHC.

The meeting held with the doctors and staff, in the presence of Dr FR Lartang, SDM&HO, took note of the lack of basic amenities such as power supply and water connection in the PHCs and the CHCs under the District.

The Minister assured the medical staff that the Government was trying its best to fulfill all necessities of the health centres in the State so that the basic requirements of the doctors, nurses and the staff posted in the rural areas are taken care of.

The Minister also interacted with the patients in the CHC and took note of the treatment provided to them. He, later, inspected the progress of the construction of a 100-bedded hospital in the District.

Later, the Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Information and Public Relations, visited the Office of the Sub-Divisional Public Relations Officer, Mawkyrwat, where problems pertaining to the shortage of man power in technical section and ministerial section were discussed.
