SHILLONG: The Shillong Lajong junior team outplayed Nongkrem SC enroute to a 10-1 demolition in a First Division match, played at the JN Stadium, Polo, on Tuesday.
Lajong drew first blood through Jester in the sixth minute. Seven minutes later, Hardy Cliff doubled SLFC’s lead with a right-footer.
Nongkrem had something to cheer for when they were awarded a penalty in the 39th minute, which was duly converted by Leningstar.
They were immediately pegged back, though, by the Reds, who scored in the very next minute through Hardy, to make it 3-1 at half time.
Lajong skipper Redeem Tlang opened his account in the 55th minute, opening the floodgates. He added another in the 61st minute, with Hardy completing his hat-trick in the 73rd, followed by yet another goal from Redeem (78th), who also completed his hat-trick.
Bipin then joined the party, netting in the 79th minute and Redeem another another two in the 82nd and 90th minutes.
