KSU meets Pariat on DSC candidates’ issue

SHILLONG: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) has urged the State government to address the demands of the DSC-passed candidates from West Khasi Hills without further delay.

The KSU made the request during their meeting with Chief Secretary WMS Pariat here on Thursday.

Pariat assured the KSU delegation that the matter would be taken up with the Chief Minister after he returns from his official tour.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, KSU president Daniel Khyriem said, “We were informed that Government is positive in its approach towards the demands of the qualified candidates and is ready to grant extension to the merit list.”

The KSU president also stated that they would convey the message of the Government to the agitating candidates and request them to temporarily call off their hunger strike till next week.
