SHILLONG: The executive meeting of the State BJP held on Wednesday passed a political resolution on various issues confronting the State. The resolution was presented by the State Vice-President Prof Imdad Hussain.

As per the resolution, infiltration into the State is a result of years of negligence which has now assumed alarming proportions and the public outcry against it reflects the concern of the people.

“A solution to the State’s border and territorial problems with Assam is nowhere in sight. The power situation, especially in the Garo Hills is getting worst by the day,” the resolution said. The law and order situation of the State was also highlighted with special emphasis on the deteriorating scenario in Garo Hills. According to the resolution, the overall political, social and economic atmosphere in the State has been vitiated and the current spate of agitation for various reasons has not been handled well.
