Arrests
lPolice arrested one Aloc C. Momin in connection with criminal intimidation case under Mendipathar PS.
lOn August 23, Police arrested one Bobby Lyngdoh Nongpiur from Pohkseh, Shillong and recovered 1.25 grams of powder suspected to be Heroin from his possession. In this connection, Police also arrested one Anjan Das.
lOn August 22 at around 5.30 pm, staff of Forest Department apprehended one Bangladeshi national, Husim Hajong, during patrolling near the Forest Reserve at Bhobanipur village (SGH).
lOn August 22 at about 7 pm, VDP Members of Umkiang village apprehended one Delmi Nialang from Umkiang (EJH) and recovered ninety-three bottles of Corex cough syrup and half kg of ganja from his possession.
Body recovered
On August 24, the body of Moushumi Dutta (20) was fished out from Umiam Lake (RB). Deceased was reported missing from her residence at Barapathar since August 22. Cadaver was sent to CH, Nongpoh for PM examination.
Assault
lOn August 23, unidentified miscreants assaulted one Monsing Marwein (29) at Mawlonghat, Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and admitted at CH, Shillong.
lOn August 22, one Wot Khongtim assaulted and also threatened his wife Aisuklin Khongkhlad with dire consequences at Ummiuh Tmar (EKH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and admitted at NEIGRIHMS, Shillong.
lOn August 15, one Aijar Sangma (25) assaulted one Kenington Sangma and also threatened him with dire consequences at Bangong Singwegre village (EGH). Police arrested the accused.
Fraud
East Khasi Hills ADM, DM Wahlang lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that one Arjun Sharma submitted a fake birth certificate while applying for EPIC.
