Block Level U-12 football tournament

SHILLONG: The office of the District Sports Officer, West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills, has released the fixtures for the Block Level Under-12 Football Tournament and an Inter-School Tournament.

For the Mawkyrwat Block, the matches will be held at the Saitsnad playground, Mawlangwir. Sixteen teams will contest the boys division and three in the girls.

The boys matches will start on September 4, with the girls beginning on September 6. Both finals will be held on September 11.

In the Ranikor Block, six boys team will compete from August 26-29 at the Nolikata playground, Nolikata.

Eight boys teams will take part in the Mairang Block, which will be held at the Dommawlum football ground, Pyndengumiong.

The first match will be held on September 3, with the final on September 7.

Riangdo playground will host the matches in the Mawshynrut Block. Seven boys teams and two girls teams will take part, kicking off on August 27.

Just four boys teams will compete in the Mawthadrai-shan Block from August 27-30 at the Nongkasen Sports Club, Nongkasen.

Revised fixtures were also issued for the Nongstoin Block, which will feature 10 boys teams and three girls teams. The tournament kicks off at the NDSA playground, Nongpyndeng from September 2, with the boys’ final on September 9 and the girls’ on September 6.

Meanwhile, the DSO will also conduct a multi-discipline inter-school tournament for both districts.

Some sports will be held at the block level, others at the district level. The sports are badminton, handball, kabbadi, kho-kho, volleyball, boxing, basketball, archery and table tennis.
