Church body seeks Govt assistance

SHILLONG: As part of the preparation for the Assembly of the Church scheduled to be held from February 6 to 9, 2014, at Khliehshnong, Sohra, the Church authorities have sought assistance from the State Government to improve the condition of the internal roads and footpaths leading to the main venue where the Assembly would be held.

Leaving no space for any inconvenience that may feature during the big event, the Sohra Assembly Youth Congress Committee under the leadership of Khraw K Kharkongor, accompanied by Gabriel Wahlang, president of the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) met PWD Minister Snaiwbhalang Dhar recently to seek the government’s assistance to ensure a successful event.

During the meeting, the PWD Minister assured the delegation that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure the success of the Assembly.
