 SHILLONG: A one-day ‘National Seminar on Impact of Research Projects on the Quality of Research in Chemistry’ was held at Synod College here on Friday. The seminar discussed at length the quality of research projects in Chemistry and studying their impact on quality research.

Inaugurating the seminar, moderator, Presbyterian Church of India, Rev SI Iawphniaw said that as a subject, Chemistry impacts our life in many ways right from the food we eat, the clothes we wear to the medicines we take and so on.

He hoped that new researches will bring further improvement in the quality of life and will provide solutions to the problems facing the world today.

Meanwhile, delivering the keynote address, Professor Department of Chemistry-NEHU, Prof K Ismail highlighted on the various funding agencies and the impact of the research projects on the quality of researches undertaken by his group in NEHU.

Other speakers included Prof A.T.Khan from IIT Gauhati, R.H.Duncan from NEHU, Frof C Medhi from Gauhati University and Dr S Baruah from Don Dosco University.
