The Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst the youth, Meghalaya Chapter, will be inaugurated on September 3 at 5 pm at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan. Renowned Dhrupad exponent Padmashree Wasfudin Dagar and artists of Thodi Manipuri Dance and Cultural Research Institute will perform on the occasion.
The Mawryngkneng Police Outpost is being upgraded to Mawryngkneng Police Station, the inauguration of which would be done by Home Minister Roshan Warjri on Sept 4 at 11.30 am.

Application

The Meghalaya State  Commission for Women has invited application from NGOs and agencies working on legal awareness programmes for conducting training of paralegals’ on issues relating to women and children in the State. Details can be obtained from the MSCW office on or before September 5 till 3 pm.

Traffic signs, name plates on office doors demanded

TURA: The A’chik People’s Social Development Organization (APSDO) has raised the issue of lack of enough traffic signs at important junctions and market places in Garo Hills as well as the absence of name plates on office doors of Government officials adding that this was causing great inconveniences to the general public especially those coming from outside for the first time.
The APSDO has appealed to the PWD to install traffic signs at all popular junctions, bus stations and vulnerable locations for the benefit of the public.
