Debate

Women’s College, Shillong, will organize the Mrs FI Hussain Memorial Inter-School & College Debate competition on September 7 at 1 pm at the college auditorium. The topic of the debate is ‘India’s post-reform economic policies are anti-poor’.

Workshop

A two-day workshop on MGNREGS will be organized by the State Institute of Rural Development for Journalists on September 13 and 14 at SIRD campus, Nongsder, from 10 am.

The Directorate of Census Operations, Meghalaya, is organising a data dissemination workshop on population enumeration census 2011 on September 6 at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah at 10 am.

A workshop on advocacy and knowledge sharing of artisans, weavers, entrepreneurs, SHGs and other associated persons was held in the city on Tuesday. The workshop was inaugurated by East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal.

Competition

A singing competition will be organized by the Rilbong Durga Puja Committee in October 2013. The audition for the event will be held on September 6 at 4.30 pm at Rilbong Sanatan Hindu Dharmasabha premises. Interested singers within the age limit of 12-30 years are invited to appear for the audition. Details can be obtained on the number 9436100250.

The draft electoral rolls has been prepared for the Assembly constituencies of Phulbari, Rajabala, Selsella, North Tura, South Tura, Rangsakona, Ganbegre and Dalu and are available for inspection at every polling station and office of the Electoral registration Officer during office hours.

Office bearers

The Khyriem clan has elected new office bearers with N Wardklet Khyriem and Kennedy C Khyriem as advisers, Sonny L Khyriem as president, Bailon, Jerry and Albert Khyriem as vice presidents, Kroswell Khyriem as chairman, Pil Khyirem as vice chairman and Murtimon Khyriem as secretary, besides others.
