Teacher’s Day celebration held in Ri Bhoi District

 NONGPOH: Together with the rest of the country, the 52nd Teacher Day was celebrated in Ri Bhoi District with an official programme held at Parish Hall, Nongpoh amidst a large gathering attended by the awardees, teachers, students and others, in which Dr C Lyngdoh, local MLA and Parliamentary Secretary to the government of Meghalaya graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Lyngdoh, expressed his immense pleasures to associate himself with the teachers on this special day.

He appreciated and congratulated the three awardees who had received the district award and meanwhile appealed them to carry on by devoted their lives and rendered their selfless and valuable services and also to set the example for other teachers.

He stated that teachers are the important and responsible members of society in molding and shaping the citizens, and added that their hard work with commitment and dedication in imparting knowledge and values to school children was highly commendable.

Thus, he called upon the teachers to continue their services by rendering with the best quality of education to their students so that they can be at par with others.
