NONGPOH: In a bizarre incident A person was killed on Thursday in a blast after a stone crushing machine developed a technical snag at Umsning. The deceased has been identified as Roaming Star Makdoh (45) from Umsning.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 8 am on Thursday when Makdoh switched on the power of the stone crusher. There was an explosion when the machine was switched on resulting in the mishap, police added.
Body found
JOWAI: Ladrymbai Police recovered one unidentified highly decomposed male body from a drain at Mulang village in East Jaintia Hills on Thursday. The body, suspected to be of a non-tribal, was later taken to Khliehriat Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
