Anniversary
The Unitarian Church, Madan Laban will commemorate 126th Unitarian Anniversary Day on September 18 and 19 with a worship service at 2 pm on September 18. The service will be attended by different denomination of Shillong.
Felicitation
The Mainroad locality of Wahiajer felicitated MLA Sniawbhalang Dhar and the 1st minister of Wahiajer village and Niwan O Gatphoh, prominent footballer of the locality, who up till date, had scored 400 successful goals, 14 times man of the match, best player 6 times, represented Meghalaya 15 times, top scholar 5 times, best striker in 2005-2008, 2010-2011 and captain during 2011-2013. The felicitation was held at Nephington Laloo Memorial Secondary School at Wahiajer.
Photography exhibition kicks off
SHILLONG: The two-day Annual Photography Exhibition-cum-sale of the department of Mass Media, St. Anthony’s College began on Friday with as many as 140 photographs being displayed.
The 16th Photography Exhibition under the theme “Life as we know it” was organised by the 3rd year students of both Media Technologies and Mass Communication and Video Production of St Anthony’s College.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Director of the Department of Arts and Culture Matsiewdor War Nongbri.
On the occasion, War informed that “18 Degrees” is an upcoming cultural extravaganza undertaken by the Meghalaya Arts and Culture department which will also have a photography workshop-cum- exhibition as part of the event.
Municipal employees felicitated
JOWAI: The Office of the Jowai Municipal Board (JMB) in collaboration with the Society for Urban and Rural Empowerment (SURE) felicitated the JMB conservancy staff here on Friday.
The 28 JMB staff, involved in daily collection and disposal of waste from Jowai town, were felicitated in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District, PS Dkhar, ADC and JMB Chief Executive Officer, SS Syiemlieh among others.
