HANM calls for bandh over release of members

SHILLONG: After the police refused to release its three arrested members, the five circles of the Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (Sawsymper, Mawsynram, Lawbah, Balat and Ranikor) have decided to hold a 12-hour bandh on September 19 in Mawsynram and Ranikor areas.

The 12 hour bandh would be effective from 5 am till 5 pm. After the bandh, the five circles would be holding a one-day office picketing on September 20.

Chief organiser of HANM five circles BS Syiemlieh said that the areas which would be affected by the bandh are Weiloi, Mawsynram, Lawbah, Hat Mawdon, Balat, Ranikor, Borsora and Ranikor.

“All the offices in Mawsynram and Ranikor areas would come under the purview of the proposed office picketing,” Syiemlieh added.
