Dympep to attend UN General Assembly

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Peoples Human Rights Council (MPHRC) chairman and permanent representative to the United Nations, Dino Dympep will attend the 68th UN General Assembly to be held in New York, USA from September 23.

During the UN General Assembly, Dympep will participate in several interactive forums such as the High Level Political Forum on Integrating Human Rights. The forum will hear a range of current proposals from the human rights community worldwide on the Post-2015 Development Agenda. Prior to his departure to ew York, Dympep will also participate in the 24th Session of the UN Human Rights Council currently going on in Geneva Switzerland.

Theft

SHILLONG:Two theft cases were reported on Sunday night from youth hostel here. In the first incident, miscreants stole one laptop and a car tape from a vehicle (ML05 J1257) parked at the youth hostel. The vehicle belonged to one Bobby Wahlang from Lumshyiap.

In the second case, one car tape was stolen from the vehicle (AS01Y6677) belonging to Subrata Bhowmick of Dudnoi. The dog squad was sent to the spot and fingerprints were taken.

Suicide

One Amar Deka(37) was found hanging inside his house at Mawpun at 12. 30 pm on Sunday . The body was shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong.
