SHILLONG: Korean recruit Shin Hojun recorded a hat-trick as Rangdajied Untied beat Pohkseh 4-2 in a Shillong Premier League match at the JN Sports Complex, Polo, on Monday.
Rangdajied consolidated their position at the top of the standings with this victory, which is their fourth in a row this season.
Pohkseh, who beat Mawlai 3-2 on Saturday for their first win of the competition, took the lead against last year’s runners-up in the 12th minute after a goal by Defenderson Pomthiah.
Shin, however, put in two goals in double quick time later in the first half.
He levelled the score in the 41st minute and then saw him team into the lead three minutes later.
David Ngaihte made it 3-1 in the 76th minute before Martin Marboh pulled one back for Pohkseh a minute later.
Shin went on to record his hat-trick in the 87th minute, which gave Rangdajied, fielding a team without several first XI players who are playing in the I-League, a solid victory.
Nangkiew Irat will play MLP in Tuesday’s match.
