Imphal: Manipur Deputy Food Safety Commissioner, Directorate of Health T Brojendro has said many complaints have been filed about unsafe drinking water which are sold in the market in the state.

Most of the packaged mineral water sold in Manipur was found unfit for drinking. So many companies have spurt up recently and all have ISI marks. It is not known how the companies selling polluted drinking water got ISI labels.

The Medical department may likely ask the government to conduct an enquiry into the matter. The authority has also not banned the companies selling polluted drinking water using ISI labels. (UNI)
