Dortmund advance in German Cup

Berlin: All Bundesliga teams advanced into the third round except Mainz, who lost 0-1 to Cologne in the second round of the German Cup.

Second division side 1860 Munich staged a courageous performance but Dortmund prevailed 2-0.

Leverkusen trail Dortmund into the next round as the ‘Werkself’ reaped a 2-0 triumph against second division side Arminia Bielefeld.

In another 2-0 result, Wolfsburg progressed over second division side Aalen.

Meanwhile, Pierre Michel Lasogga’s winner secured Hamburg a place in the next round as they knocked out second division team Greuther Fuerth.

Hoffenheim struggled for goals over 90 minutes against second division side Cottbus, but things changed with the start of the extra time as Hoffenheim grabbed a 3-0 victory.

Augsburg eased to a 3-0 victory over third division side Preuen Munster and second division side Sand-hausen came from behind to beat fourth division side Wiedenbrueck 3-1. (IANS)
