Jubilee Year
As part of its Golden Jubilee celebration, Synod Higher Secondary School will host a Science-cum-art sale exhibition on September 27 from 10 am to 3 pm at the school Hall.
Blood Donation
Lion’s Club of Shillong organised a voluntary blood donation camp at NEIGRIHMS on September 23. 23 volunteers including Lion’s club members, local donors and donors from 58 GTC Shillong donated blood on the occasion.
Tourism Day
The Department of Tourism will celebrate World Tourism Day on September 27 at Hotel Pinewood from 11 am onwards.
Seminar
The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, EFL University, Shillong Campus, in partnership with UNICEF Assam is going to organise a Northeastern Regional Seminar on the theme ‘Child Rights and the Media’ on October 31 and November 1 at EFL University, Shillong Campus located at Umshing inside the NEHU permanent campus.
Annapurna rice
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Jaintia Hills District has informed that rice under Annapurna scheme has been released against the month of July to September 2013. The scale of issue is 10 kg per Annapurna card per month and will be distributed free of cost.
Competition
Hathat Colony Durga Puja Committee will be organizing Aarti Competition in memory of Late Subhasis (Himu) Endaw on October 12 at 7 pm during the Durga Puja celebration. Other events include Art, Recitation, Go-As-You Like (Fancy Dress), Musical Chair, Rangoli (Alpona), Shongkho Dhoni (Shell blowing) and Ideal Husband and Wife competitions which will begin from October 6, at Chandradhar Sanskriti Bhavan.
