SHILLONG: The private house of Additional Chief Secretary BK Dev Verma at Mawpat has come under petrol bomb attack on Wednesday at around 11 pm.

According to police, a petrol bomb was thrown at the private house of Verma which is under construction and is located in a secluded place.

Since the petrol bomb fell on the wall of the house, there was no damage.

The labourers informed the matter to the contractor, Batkupar Nongrum alias Bobby who is the former KSU Vice President, Ri Bhoi.

While Nongrum was coming to the site, his vehicle was pelted with stones at Langkyrding and front windshield of his vehicle was damaged, police added.

Ambulance not spared : With the continuous night road blockade throughout the state and the spate of stone pelting by miscreants at vehicles, people in emergency have to bear the brunt of the blockade, our Nongstoin correspondent adds.

In Nongstoin, a private ambulance run by the NRLTODA was disallowed to ferry patients to the Civil Hospital.

On Tuesday night, two women, one from Upper New Nongstoin and the other from Pyndenglawlar had to be taken to hospital by a police vehicle as the ambulances that of government were not allowed by pro-ILP activist to ferry them.

The woman from Pyndenglawar, who was pregnant, began bleeding profusely and needed to be rushed to the hospital. After the ambulances both government and private refused to take her, her family members sought police help to rush the lady to hospital.
