Multi-facility centre inaugurated

TURA: The much awaited Multi-Facility Centre was inaugurated at Dadenggre Block on Saturday along with the Enterprise Facilitation Centre under Integrated Basin Development & Livelihood Promotion programme, by MLA & Parliamentary Secretary for PHE and Urban Affairs Noverfield R Marak.

The programme was organized by the Block Development Officer, Dadenggre, Thera Ch Marak. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest emphasized on the need to preserve the birthplace of ancestors.

Marak said that the initiative of such programmes was to help the local people to interact directly with the concerned officers of various departments in their areas, so as to work mutually towards the growth of the place and improve their livelihood.

Marak also urged the villagers to utilize the various schemes provided by the government while adding that the aim of the government was to uplift and provide opportunity to all. He also stressed on the importance of maintaining peace and law & order in the region, so as to successfully implement all schemes.

Earlier speaking on the occasion, P K Sangma, Chairman, Garo Hills Autonomous District Council, happily informed the locals that they could now use the Multi-Facility Centre to organize various programmes. Sangma also informed that a new Multi-Facility Centre would be inaugurated at Damal Asim soon.
