‘NE states need to work together for development’

Kohima: The states of North-East needs to work together for sustainable development of the area, Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Ninong Ering said.

“The people and the government of the region need to have an objective for sustainable development to happen in the area,” he said while giving special remarks during the valedictory function of the Sustainable Mountain Development Summit (SMDS-III) here Friday night.

He said that North East region has problems ranging from unemployment to corruption to drug abuse but the region has to move forward to bring development by taking up such challenges with unity.

Governor of Nagaland and Manipur Dr Ashwani Kumar also called upon the professionals, social and political leaders to favour the common people with their formulations on sustainable mountain development. (PTI)
