SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Right to Information Movement has reiterated that the Chief Minister should bring forth the required amendments in the Meghalaya Lokayukta (Amendment) Act 2013 in the upcoming Assembly session.

MRTIM convener Michael Syiem shot off a letter to Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma on Monday reminding him that he had assured on the floor of the House in April this year of bringing the bill back to the House in the next session for further amendments.

According to Syiem, the Government must bring in the required amendments to make the Act stronger, independent and more effective to curb corruption.
