SHILLONG: The KSU units of South West Khasi Hill District and Langkynma area have condemned PWD Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar over his and his department’s lackadaisical attitude in addressing the transportation needs of the people in these areas.

Stating that delay in completion of the Ranikor-Nongjri road has affected the local populace to a large extent, the KSU units have asked the department to complete the work within the stipulated time failing which they will be forced to announce a series of agitations to pressurize the department to carry out the work.

According to the KSU, the union had recently apprised the minister concerned of the situation, who had promised to take up the matter with the contractor by September.

“However, till date, nothing has been done and no sign of progress is seen in this connection,” the union said, adding that this delay has affected the people of the area especially those who are dire need of medical attention.
