Breakthrough in murder case

SHILLONG: The West Khasi Hills police made a breakthrough in the murder of one Odar Sohlamar, whose body was recovered last month from Nonglang village, with the arrest of three persons who were involved in the crime besides seizing the murder weapons.

On investigation, police managed to arrest two persons, Stikshore Syngiang and Buinklik Marthong recently and on further interrogation, another Damion Bula (26) was arrested for his involvement in the crime.

Sohlamar was brutally murdered by these three persons on September 25 in a jungle at Nongmawngap area near Nonglang village in West Khasi Hills.

On being led by Damion Bula, Police recovered one old faulty revolver from his house at Nongporiu village on October 3 and the very next day, police recovered two country-made revolvers from the same jungle, where Sohlamar was found murdered.

The arrested persons have been forwarded to the court and the murder weapons have been seized by the police.
