Arrest

On October 6 at around 10.50 pm, unknown miscreants smashed the rear windshield of a private Maruti car (ML-10-9341) belonging to police constable (Armed Branch) Emirald Swer which was parked at Pohkseh. In this connection, Police arrested one Crensius Kharkongor (18) of Pohkseh. The accused has been forwarded to the court and remanded in 8-day police custody.

Fraud

S.K. Gupta, the Chief Manager of Canara Bank Shillong lodged a complaint that on May 25, 2012 one cheque (No. 84669 dated 24.5.2012) for Rs. 2,19,471 was credited into the account of one Amit Kumar Paul (SB A/c No. 20128720243). However, the cheque was found to be issued for Rs. 20,000.

Murder

On October 3 at around 6 pm, one Treiminot Shadap attempted to murder his younger brother, Baitriem Shadap at Madanriting Block-C, Shillong.

Theft

  • On the night of October 3, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08B-7096) belonging to one Herington Sangma from Araimile, Tura (WGH).
  • On October 3, unknown miscreants broke into the shop of one Lahel Bakky Hussain at Tikrikilla (WGH) and stole cell phones and accessories valued around Rs. 85,000.

Threat calls

One S. Kurkalang of 4th Mile, Upper Shillong lodged a complaint that on September 30 at around 9.26 am, he received a call from a mobile (No. 919939568924) in which the caller asked for details of his ATM card. Later, he found that Rs. 12,586 was missing from his account.
