Exhibition

BK Bajoria School and KL Bajoria College is organising an exhibition cum sale on the theme “Aesthetics: A creative Extravaganza on October 8 from 10 am to 6 pm at All Saints Hall. Regional Officer of CBSE KK Choudhury will be the chief guest.

Contest

The Kench’s Trace Puja Committee will organise the beauty contest “Pujor Shera Sundari-Season 2” at Kench’s Trace Puja pandal on October 12 at 6:30 pm.

Get together

Central Puja Committee annual get together of harmony will be held on October 8 at the auditorium of Asom Kristi Kendra, Stonyland Dhankheti. Meghalaya Governor Dr KK Paul will be the chief guest while MP Vincent Pala will be the guest of honour.

Clarification

It is clarified that the High Court of Meghalaya has directed the State Government to file the counter affidavit within a period of four weeks and not as four months on a writ petition filed by an individual in the Court on the matter of non issuance of OBC certificates to deserving candidates.

Restriction

In view of the road construction of the portion from Mawroh PTS to Mawkynroh junction to NEHU, no heavy vehicles will be allowed to ply on the stretch of the road and this include buses and trucks. The restriction will be only during working hours from 8 am to 6 pm for the period of 8-12 October.

Celebration

The Jail Road Durga Puja will complete 99 years and in this regard, the centenary celebration will start with lighting the lamps by the senior citizens and women of the locality, followed by a dance recital Nari Shakti composed and choreographed by Debi Goswami Dey on October 10 at 7pm at Jail Road Puja Mandap.

Conference

The Grace Redeemer Church, Shillong will have an ‘Encountering God Together’ conference at Khasi National Dorbar Hall, Mawkhar from October 11 till 13. On Friday and Saturday, the service will start from 5.30 onwards while on Sunday, the service will commence from 10 am onwards.

ACHIEVEMENT

Angeleen Lyngdoh, daughter of (L) Elphindro Lyngkot and Elbina Lyngdoh Mawphlang was awarded with the degree of Philosophy in Education by NEHU for her thesis, ‘A study of social intelligence in relation to teaching aptitude of student teachers in the state of Meghalaya’. She completed the thesis under the supervision of Prof SM Sungoh.
