SHILLONG: Rangdajied United FC have not had the brightest start to their maiden I-League season, suffering two defeats in Kolkata and Bangalore, but the two-goal comeback against Dempo SC last Friday, which gave the team their first point, has given the team a shot in the arm.

And the most delighted of all seems to be the captain Eugeneson Lyngdoh.

“The point against Dempo was very important for us,” Eugene was quoted as saying. “We could have won the game but were little unlucky with a penalty going against us. We are looking forward to our next match and we hope to turn around things from here.”

Rangdajied will play host to champions Churchill Brothers on Thursday at the JN Stadium, Polo.

The Goans have also registered just a point from three outings, but are above RUFC with a better goal difference.

“Churchill Brothers have always been a good team. We respect them but we are also ready for the challenge. We will give our best and will definitely try to grab three points from this match,” Eugene added.

Tickets go on sale from Tuesday and will be in the range of Rs 80 to Rs 400.
