Pala inaugurates Biotech Hub at Synod College

SHILLONG: Lok Sabha member from Shillong, Vincent H Pala on Thursday inaugurated the Institutional Biotech Hub of Synod College, Shillong, which is sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India.

Speaking on the occasion, Pala expressed his appreciation for the college’s initiative in getting funding from the Department of Biotechnology. He encouraged the students to study hard and become future scientists of the country.

The Biotech Hub has been involved in providing hands-on trainings in biological techniques to Secondary and Higher Secondary Science students and teachers as well as to B.Sc students of Life Sciences of various institutions.

The IBT Hub is currently conducting research work in the areas of Molecular Phylogenetics and Bioindicators of Pollution.
