Militants lobbed the grenade at the house of John Raleng damaging some parts of the house on Friday night.
Although Raleng and his family members were in the house, none was injured.
No individual or group has claimed responsibility of the blast, police said. Meanwhile, the Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal (TKLI) strongly  condemned the attack on the chairman of the ADC.
“We appeal to the perpetrators to openly come out and clarify on the grieveous crime and amend themselves so that peaceful co-existence and all embracing atmosphere prevails in our disturbed land,” the Tangkhul students’ body said.
Manipur Home minister Gaikhangam has assured the members of Autonomous District Councils to provide necessary security.
He asked the ADC members not to allow fear psychosis to grip in them due to numrous acts of intimidations from certain quarters.
Gaikhangam said this while inspecting the blast site at ADC Bhavan, Poumai Colony in Chingmeirong, Imphal on Saturday.
Inspecting the blast site today, Home Minister Gaikhangam, who is also the deputy chief minister, said those underground elements targeting the ADC members will not succeed in their endeavour.

“And intimidating the ADC members is against the interest of the public,” said the home minister. He then assured that the state government will provide the needed security to the ADC members.
The Home minister then asked the ADC members not to allow unknown persons to reside in their quarters. He said the quarters should be dwelt only by the ADC members and their families.
