Tyrsad girls win 2-0

SHILLONG: OM Roy Mem HS School have entered the under-17 Subroto Cup boys football final following a 3-0 victory over Army Boys, Dhanapur, in New Delhi on Saturday.
This is the first time that this particular school has reached the final of the Subroto Cup, although other schools from Meghalaya have won the tournament.
The match against Army Boys was a fast-paced one, but the taller and bigger built boys still lagged behind those from Meghalaya.
All three goals were scored in the second session.
Mebanshan Suting converted two penalties within a span of four minutes while Jimmyson Nongtdu scored in stoppage time to complete the rout.
Teams in the other half of the draw are still playing their group stage matches, so the OM Roy boys will have to wait until October 19 for the final.
Meanwhile, in the U-17 girls tournament, Tyrsad Hr Sec School defeated girls from Aghanistan 2-0 for their third successive win in the competition.
Pynhun Chulet scored her seventh goal of the event in the 25th minute, while Idashisha Mawlong added another in the 52nd.
The Meghalaya girls will next play an Air Force school team on Sunday.
In another girls match, RMSM Vidhyalaya,  Manipur, secured a spot in the girls’ title clash with an easy 5-1 win over Reverend Saiaithanga Memorial School, Mizoram.
The girls from Manipur did not face too much trouble from their rivals and a hat-trick from D Grace in the first half and another couple of goals by Ratanbala Devi after the break were enough to see them through.
NCC (North East Region) also had a comfortable match against AP Sports School, Andhra Pradesh, coming through 7-0.
In a completely one-sided game, Magurmari High School, Assam, obliterated Coast Guard Public School, Daman, 11-0 in a boys U-17 fixture.
Meanwhile, according to the official tournament website, the final of the U-14 boys final has been moved to October 14.
The match will be between two schools from Mizoram and Assam. (with agency inputs)
