According to official sources on Friday, the meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung Murohu Chotso shared their concern areas and action taken by both the sides to maintain peace in the border areas of the two districts and decided that district level meeting will be held more frequently to maintain status quo in the border areas until an acceptable and a permanent solution to border disputes is made.
The DC of Jorhat (Assam), Solanki Vishal in his address stressed on the need to engage in confidence building measures to enable people in the border to live peacefully.

He further said, ‘we together (DCs/SPs) officers in the district can make a difference on the ground’ by holding more meetings.
