Four held for assaulting cop

JOWAI: Police have arrested four persons for assaulting an on-duty police official.

Sub-Inspector CK Marak and his driver T. Neiborn sustained injuries when they were attacked by four youths at a place near Challam Petrol Pump on Monday at around 9:30 am. The officer was on patrolling duty when the incident took place.

The arrested persons are Ioannis Pyrtuh, Kitbok Dkhar, Hami Dkhar Khliehtyrshi and Mon Phawa. They were in inebriated condition at the time of the incident. Both, Kitbok and Hami were the sons of a Congress leader MB Rymbai. Rymbai is the brother of the JHADC chief.
