Bhubaneswar/Hyderabad: The flood situation in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh turned grim on Friday, taking the toll in both states to 47 and 17 respectively and leaving thousands homeless, officials said.

The floods triggered by heavy rains under the influence of a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal and vigorous Northeast monsoon wrecked havoc in the two states, inundating hundreds of villages. (IANS)
