Mukul joins in paying condolences to victim’s family

HILLONG: Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma amongst others have condoled the death of Vikash Nandwal, a victim of an arson attack at Motphran.

Dr Sangma who had arrived in Delhi on a pre-scheduled visit, condoled the demise of Nandwal.

“He was a brave soul and I deeply condole his death on behalf of people of Meghalaya,” he said in his message.

In a statement issued here on Saturday night,Home Minister Roshan Warjri has extended her deepest sympathies to the bereaved family while condemning the dastardly attack that has taken the life on an innocent person.

“It is indeed very sad for the State to have to witnessed such a gruesome act by desperate cowards who have no conscience and whose inhuman actions have taken away a beloved member of a family, a friend and a peace loving citizen of the State,” Warjri said.

“I reiterate the fact that those involved will not be spared and will be meted out due punishment as per the provisions of law,” Warjri reiterated.

The Home Minister has urged one and all to come together as a united force against such criminal elements that have no respect for human lives or for civilized order of society and with utter disregard for peaceful coexistence.

“The recent incidents of arson and violence that have taken place in different parts of the city and the state are indeed a blot on the pages of our unified history and a pain to have to bequeath to posterity,” Warjri said.

Earlier, Warjri and Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh along with other friends and well wishers had thronged the residence of Nandwal soon after the news of his death spread.

Meanwhile, the Shree Marwari Panchayat, Shillong and the Shree Rajasthan Vishram Bhavan have also conveyed their profound grief and sorrow to the family members of Nandwal.

According to them, Nandwal will always be remembered as a humble, pious, cordial, dedicated, spirit of harmony, integrity and soft-spoken during his whole lifetime.

Also, the members of the Frontier Chamber of Commerce have expressed grief at the sad and untimely death of Nandwal.

According to them, Nandwal was a young and dynamic businessman and had been associated with different social organisations.

The members have conveyed their condolence to the bereaved family and prayed to God to give strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
