Arrest

Police arrested one Ravindra Rabha in connection with an attempted murder case under Khliehriat PS.

Extortion

On October 27, Police arrested one Wilseng S Marak (26) in connection with an extortion case under Baghmara PS.

Assault

On October 27 at around 7.45 pm, three unidentified miscreants assaulted one Chandrika Prasad (58) in his quarter at Shillong Polytechnic in Mawlai. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong.

Body recovered

On October 25, one unidentified decomposed male body (apparently non-tribal) was recovered from a coal pit near Dalmia Cement factory at Lumshnong (EJH). Necessary formalities have been observed and matter is under enquiry.

Accident

On October 25 at around 11.45 am, one Abhaya Kumar Singh (20) fell down and sustained injuries, while working in Goldstone Cement Ltd., at Musiang Lamare (EJH). He was removed to CH Jowai, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Arson

On October 25 at around 6.30 pm, unknown miscreants set fire to a motorcycle (ML-09A-1827) belonging to one Jimlistijne N. Arengh at Dabitbibra.

Rape

On the night of October 25, one Tyngshain Iawphniaw (18) raped a girl in a jungle at Diwian Mawring village (SWKH).

Abduction case

Subhash Deka, driver of a JCB and two labourers, John Deka and Ratan Nandi, who were abducted from a construction site at Angratuli Reserve Forest (SGH) on October 24 at around 10 pm, were released unharmed by their abductors at the same place.

Theft

On October 24 at around 5.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole four HTC mobile handsets valued around Rs. 90,000 from the shop of one Shaleti Laitphlang at Mirullah Building, GS Road.

One Letish K. Marak lodged a complaint at Mendipathar PS that on October 14 at around 2 am, two persons, Saltong D. Shira (32) and (2) a boy (15), entered into her house at Bolsaldam (NGH), took away clothes and unspecified amount of money. Police arrested the accused persons.

Threat case

One Sharmen Diengdoh lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on October 21 at about 7.40 pm, he received a telephone call, in which the unidentified caller threatened him and his family members with dire consequences.
