SAI Training Centre to hold selection trials

SHILLONG: The Sports Authority of India, Shillong Training Centre (STC), will conduct selection trials for the induction of residential and day boarders into the STC, a press release from the Centre said on Monday.

The scheme will be open to boys and girls in the following disciplines: archery, boxing, table tennis, taekwondo, judo and karate.

Football will be open to boys only.

Those between the ages of 12 and 18 (as on December 31, 2013) are eligible and applicants should have achievements at the district level and above, recognised by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs or the appropriate state sports association.

The press release also stated that National Sports Federation selection will be held on December 2-5 at the JN Sports Complex, Polo.

The last date for the submission of entry forms is November 15.
