Eviction drive

On October 28 at around 12.30 pm, District Administration conducted an eviction drive in the land of one Sylvania Kharkongor at Bihari Colony, Lapalang. However, around 3 pm, a group of persons armed with iron rods chased the District Administration officials and police. In the process, one civilian Bilnor Kharkrang (28) sustained injuries. The police have registered a case in this connection and are likely to make some arrests in a few days.

Abduction case

On October 27, one Bipen Rabha lodged a complaint that Bijuli Rabha along with her daughter Minaksi Rabha have been missing since the last twenty-five days. They are suspected to have been kidnapped by unknown miscreants.

Assault

On October 27 at around 8.45 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted one Johnny Sadhu Khan (20) at Police Bazar. As a result, he sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

Arrest

On October 25 at around 8.30 am, police arrested two Bangladeshi nationals, Md. Sahak Mia (34) and Md. Jewel Mia (24) at Dawki (WJH).

Police arrested three persons, Kenny Marbaniang (23), Shanbok Marnjar (21) and Rangksanbor Kurbah (19), in connection with a case related to house trespass and voluntarily causing hurt under Mawlai PS.

Arson

On October 25 at around 2.45 pm, one Phot Laloo and ten others set fire to the dwelling house of one Sawanlang Suting at Tamu village (WJH).

Theft

On October 24, unknown miscreants stole 120 metre long water pipes from the premises of Tambo Ading LP School, Williamnagar (EGH).
